The vehicle veered across both lanes of Glen Road in Sparta, where it rolled over and came to a stop near Upper Glen Lake Road around 9:40 p.m., Lt. Thomas Snyder told Daily Voice.
Crews arrived and found that the 17-year-old had extricated himself, though the 16-year-old passenger, also from Sparta, took about an hour to free from the vehicle before being evaluated by paramedics at the scene.
The passenger was taken to Morristown Hospital by ambulance. A medical helicopter was requested and declined due to weather.
Glen Road was closed until around 12:25 a.m.
